The Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma has equivalent academic value to NVQ4 or entry level degree, and it differs from a standard Diploma in that it is awarded not by the hypnotherapy school itself, but by an independent national accreditation body.
The HPD is a nationally recognised qualification which leads to public acceptance for our profession and will give you professional status. It is a qualification based on that you know and what you can do. Gaining the HPD will undoubtedly give you the edge over your competitors and confidence to your prospective clients who can verify your qualifications if they want.
Since the newspapers latched onto the fact that Prince Harry was benefitting from EMDR, many people have enquired about training.
Although both Alan and Carole are experienced EMDR therapists, the only EMDR training we recommend is via the emdr association, http://www.emdrassociation.org.uk
However, for those of you who are keen to discover more about the effective and fascinating treatment, we include, on modules four and seven, some valuable techniques to help clients who may be suffering from Trauma that are based on EMDR, together with training on dealing with PTSD.

Hypnotherapy and psychotherapy naturally co-exist in the therapy room. Whereas hypnotherapy involves dealing with the client’s subconscious mind, psychotherapy involves communication on a conscious level; hence it’s portrayal as a ‘talking therapy’. It therefore makes sense that a therapeutic relationship will involve both conscious and subconscious dialogue. There are a number of approaches and theories that we teach, including cognitive behavioural, humanistic, psychodynamic and solution focused.
We also cover the work of Freud and Jung, in addition to behavioural psychology and personality types. All our trainers are experienced hypnotherapists, counsellors and psychotherapists. The course Directors, Alan Cooper & Carole Wan, have been in practice since 1992. Their expertise in helping clients over almost twenty years means that they have a wealth of experience and client cases to draw on during training, covering every aspect of therapy that students may encounter.
